In just over a week, we will be installing an exclusive large-scale interactive preview of Avatar Secrets in the main lobby of the TIFF Bell Lightbox, for the duration of the Hot Docs Film Festival, April 25 to May 4, 2014.
The public display will run on two high-definition touch-screens, 24 hours a day for the length of the festival, giving film lovers and members of the documentary community the opportunity to get a sneak peek of Avatar Secrets, which launches for the iPad this fall.
We’ve super-sized the immersive visual experience, magnifying the experience over five times larger than the tablet documentary!
Audiences are invited to visit, stay, and interact with the dynamic screens, which will be running a special 20 minute preview version of Avatar Secrets, complete with layers of additional content that can be accessed through “hot spots” on screen.
Members of the documentary community are also invited to hear writer/director, Ramona Pringle, speak on the incredible creative storytelling potential of new platforms, including the tablet, at the Hot Docs Industry panel: Tablet Strategies: New Directions of Interactive Documentary.
The panel takes place from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm on Tuesday, April 29th at the Rogers Industry Centre. Ramona will be joined by fellow panelists Mickael Brock, Founder, Astronaut Magazine and Vincent McCurley, Creative Technologist, NFB. Moderator is John Canning, Media Producer, Media SHERPA, LLC.
Online registration for Hot Docs 2014 is now open, with regular pricing available until April 18, 2014. Visit the Hot Docs website for details.
